Queen City Family - Reading

I must say, been going here for over 20 years, my kids now adults and gone from home still love this place, went there today after a while not being there and my platter (Hungry man), was still amazing and yummy. Eggs over light perfect, hash browns perfect, the ham, sausage just on point.. Last but not least the French toast was just perfect!!... Waitress seemed new or shy, but job well done, and price still where it has been. Keep up the great work QC... Yummy food!!...

Came here on a late Sunday night. We ordered a club sandwich, chicken Croquettes and the $8.99 all u can eat salad bar. The server girl was great, the club sandwich was delicious and the Chicken Croquettes were good. The salad bar was a big disappointment for $8.99! The lettuce was sparse. The hot bread box was empty. The selections were minimal. All in all a tiny salad bar inadequately equipped to be charging $8.99. It was more like a small town $4.99 salad bar. Other than that it was good here and if I ever found myself hungry at 2a.m. and passing by here I would stop to eat.

The reason that I am rating this as a four is soley upon service. The friendly greeting upon entering, in adddition to the fact that I am able to order grits, is reason alone that this place is tops! Even though this is a diner, this one has to be, hands down, one of the most delicious greasy spoons around. The eggs are cooked to my liking all the time. The toast is never burnt. However, most importantly, the coffee does not taste weak and watery. As far as diners are concerned, this is the best around here.

Stopped in here for the third time in 15 years and since it was dinner time, I decided to have my share of the salad bar and an entrée for dinner! Simple enough? The salad bar was ordinary and nothing special. I was expecting some Middle Eastern selections or even warm pita bread. The soups were minestrone and clam chowder and I did something daring as to mixing them together in the same cup. It was different alright! The rolls on the salad bar were your average prepackaged variety. I ordered the chicken parm over spaghetti. The portion size was small and patty like. They even skimped on the portion size of the spaghetti. I know now not to eat dinner here! I was so hungry after I left that I snacked all night at my house! I never understand why some diners have small portions and others have enormous portions and still basically charge the same prices? Service was pleasant and efficient!

Bad food, zero hospitality Not friendly! Overpriced! Will never eat here again and will not recommend! Beware!!!
