Gabe’s Cajun Food - Rayne

Gross! Got some water down gumbo. Not worth the stop, at least for any gumbo.

We had people tell us how good this place was. We finally had a chance to stop and boy that was a mistake. This food is TERRIBLE!!!! My husband got the fish basket and I got the 1/2 1/2. The breading on the fish was flour not cornmeal. The texture and taste of the fish was unappetizing. The fries were old tasting and limp. My husband never eats ketchup on his fries but tonight he had to just to try and eat them. The fried shrimp and coleslaw were the only edible part of our meal. The food was so bad we walked across the street to the truckstop and ordered a pizza to take back to our hotel. I wouldn’t eat here again even if it were free. I have never given a restaurant such a poor review but people need to know so they don’t waste their money.

Always great food for reasonable price. One of our go-to food places.

The shrimp po boy was incredible. One of my favorites. Definitely worth a trip here.

What a wonderful place! I came in right at closing time and they so graciously served me. The chicken and Cajun rice are phenomenal! Must try if you haven’t! Thank you Gabe’s for filling my belly before my nap. ?
