Papilla Gelateria - RAVENNA

Gelateria Papilla is located in the centre of Ravenna near the Piazza del Popolo. The ice cream parlour serves sorbets and nice ice creams. Service is fast and adequate. The gelato is popular with locals as well as by-passers and tourists. It is a classical Italian gelato parlour and offers a big choice of ice creams. We came on a walking tour and the terrace was tempting for ice cream. For a walk-out ice cream you pay cash at a counter machine. Gelato Papilla is a good place for an ice-cream break.

The selection is huge at Papilla but one can never go wrong with the Italian classic gelato tastes such as Piemontese nuts and pistacchio from Bronte. The cone comes cutely decorated with a yummy wafer.

Unusual system where you pay in advance with cash into a machine, but it works and saves the staff handling (other people's) cash and possibly germs. Service was good. Flavours and tastes were very good, with very smooth consistency.

I gelati vegani con base latte di riso sono stati fantastici e senza zucchero (ho assaggiato solo nocciola e Gianduia, ma c'era anche pistacchio). Quelli con base latte di riso sono abbondanti, ma ci sono anche quelli con base acqua per i vegani, quindi c'è un po' per tutti i gusti. C'è anche il cornetto vegano. Consigliato.
