Other times, they simply ignore your text messages for a reservation. Not sure how this place cansurvive with these issues considering how expensive it is.
Staff was awesome! The atmosphere was great. The food was ok, The chef asked us for honest opinions so here is mine. For the fall dinner, the salmon tasted wonderful but some of the bigger pieced where underdone. The bison stake was way to sweet he hada great idea but all I could taste was the honey. Some of the bigger carrots where undercooked, the potato's where good. And forthe cheesecake it was good just huge pieces. I had the non alcoholic versions of the drinks and they did not really resemble thealcoholic ones and where all way to much cities in them, except the desert one that was was good. But I had a wonderful time.
What a cool location! As you can see in my photo, the presentation was terrible for the most expensive menu item (southern fried quail). But it tasted great and the other food we ordered looked much better. Our server was decent, but put the wrong order infor someone I was dining with and made no offer for any compensation. The worst part of the visit was an unexpected open miccomedy night that started around 8pm. Our server could clearly see we were there to catch up with friends and made no suggestionthat our location near the microphone wouldn?t be good for chatting. The first ?comedian?, whose first attempt at comedy was tomake fun of my friend dining with me relentlessly, didn?t improve through the remainder of his time at the mic. This place wasan awkward combination of higher end [priced] dining and poorly timed comedy bar. Had we seen it was open mic comedy night ontheir Facebook page (where they relentlessly advertise their burlesque night), we?d have at minimum chosen a different eveningto visit.
Great speakeasy with an authentic 20s feel that focuses on craft cocktails. Located in the basement of Murphy's. You'll need to take the elevator down to get there. On weekends they require a password. We went for the comedy open mic on a Thursday. OnWednesdays and Thursdays it's not too crowded and you can do a walk in. Weekends require reservations. I did the 3 coursecocktail option where your bartender chooses what to make for $33. It was fun to try new things, but only one of the cocktailswas perfect to my liking. We met the executive chef and ordered the bison burger of the moment and it was the best burger I'vehad in a long time!!! The man knows what he is doing! Creative and delicious menu items.
My husband and I went here for date night and it was amazing! The ambiance is so chill, it's not too loud, and it really feels like you're in a speakeasy. We did the chefs choice 3 course meal and cocktails. The food was delicious. My main course was meltin your mouth and each drink was better than the last. Definitely a unique and exciting experience. We will be back. 10/10
