Schloss Raesfeld

We live in Raesfeld, and often walk over on nice days for a coffee or beer. We enjoy dining there as well (grillabends in summer are pretty awesome). Great atmosphere to enjoy an afternoon or evening, especially outside or in the new wintergarten. So beautiful and pleasant, we even got married at Schloss Raesfeld!

A must if visiting the area, beautiful grounds, great food and drink, and so much history. There is also a good pub on the grounds. Treat yourself. And enjoy the black geese that live there.

Hard to fault good food and great service, to say nothing of a stunning bottle of Reisling, in such an extraordinary place. A calm evening allowed us to dine at an outside table next to the moat - it was so peaceful despite the growing noise coming from the nearby square where a big screen was showing the World Cup final, Germany vs Argentina. Menu choice was not huge which I think is good - it meant that the restaurant could do what it was doing well. Not the cheapest dining experience but I have to say, great value. In my view, any traveller passing through Raesfeld should take time to call at this stunning castle and experience what it has to offer. It would be a brilliant place for a wedding!

Schloss Raesfeld is an old "Wasserschloss" on the German countryside, not far from the Rhein river and close to the Dutch border. The restaurant is in the vault roof cellar and has plenty of windows still making it a bright room. Outside is a large terrace to the south.The food is based mainly on regional ingredients and thus differ with the season. It offers a classical selection of German dishes. Here I enjoyed the best roast of venison I have ever had. The size of the dishes is sufficient enough even if you're hungry. It's also a good place to enjoy a coffee and a big piece of cake (Kaffee & Kuchen).

Schloss Raesfeld is a beautiful castle in a great park. It offers a good restaurant more or less in the cellar. You can also sit outside an enjoy the beautiful landscape and the water that surrounds the castle. It is one of the most relaxed places I know.Food here is good, most of It are German dishes of high quality.Staff is friendly and efficiënt.
