Bidrage med feedbackGood bread and quite a variety, Good service. In general , though they take a bit to long to take your order.A bit too expensive but well located
This restaurant isn't located in the best part of town and don't be surprised when they lock the door behind you, BUT if you can get past that slight unpleasantness, the restaurant itself is a gem! The owners are super sweet and go out of...their way to be friendly, chat and make you feel welcome. Plan to come on the brink of starvation because the portions are HUGE! My husband and I split a order of the Gallegos Milanesa and we ate about half of it! It was an exceptional milanesa, quite possibly the best that we've had while living in and traveling around Argentina. Tender meat, flavorful and very satisfying. We'd brave the rough side of town to eat there again
If you happen to be in Buenos Aires, in the south of the province, you should experience eating in Los Gallegos, Quilmes. It is a real local experience, very good quality and price for your food. It is like old times restaurant....so they are ok...with a big crowd celebrating birthday, or if you have noisy kids... it is like going to eat to your aunty (only if your aunty cooks well Be careful and ask for advise when ordering your meal... One Milanesa could feed people, so do not order too much....you can always ask for more if you are still hungry. Rabas were gorgeous, even my daughter tried and loved them! Cornalitos are fresh and crunchy as they should be, my son ate them all! The milanesa is a different experience, not only because tastes good but because of size and presentation... I bet you will take a picture of it! Service is good and atmosphere is relaxed (could be noisy as I said before, and the owners are flexible with all customers Go and try.....you will not regret!
If you want to eat mammoth sized milanesas (breaded meat), this is the place to go. A typical Argentinian style bodegón where you can sample great homemade types of dishes. The place is not too fancy, but the service is efficient and fast. On Friday...and Saturday nights you may have to queue for a while outside, but the food will be worth the wait. Mind you, ask waiters how big servings are before ordering, but if you just couldn´t manage your lot, its customary to have any leftovers wrapped up to take home. No credit cards accepted, but anyway it´s not expensive at all. Go with a big appetite!
