Bidrage med feedbackWent there kanina to try their food. I was even in a rush chexking reviews to make sure what to order. I was not a fan of traditional iced tea but I drink hot tea with honey and calamansi, never liked ir cold tho. Bf tried that one and he loves it, as served it comes with a cute cup of honey and calamansi that you can pour into the glass. What we ordered were: Devil's food cake (ofcourse! The most famous cake when you think of Chocolate Kiss) well nothing really special about it but the taste of comfort when you eat it. The sweetness is not overpowering, parang yung cake na binibake ng nanay mo sa bahay tapos pwede mo na kainin agad after marinig yung *ding* ng oven. Ganun sya. LolNext was Eggplant Parmigiana I like this one along with the pc of toasted bread. It's light but creamy and is quite big im serving. Then we tried their ribs this one is good also minus factor lang yung hindi siya fall off the bones na ribs, which is usually ganon dapat. Next is the chicken pork adobo flakes and you'll have two options for the egg whether it's salted or scrambles, I think it will taste better with the salted egg but we went with the scrambled egg to play it safe. I expected it to have so much taste para yung adoboprito talaga but then it just like boiled meat-shredded-then fried, no adobo feel on it. Lastly, chicken kiev, it's cordon bleu without the ham and cheese but herbs inside and then topped with a lot of gravy, o basically parang fried chicken fillet lang. Nothing special. Service is good, friendly and accomodating ang staff.
Cake is too overpriced. I ordered Devils food cake. There’s nothing special about it. Cake is too dry. And I remember i tasted a lil bitter cocoa. I think batter was not completely mixed. Although the place is cozy.
What is Dayap? Dayap is a small citrus fruit that is native in Southeast Asia and is also known as Key Lime. Here in the Philippines, Dayap is used as an additional flavoring or main ingredient to desserts like Leche Flan (caramel pudding or flan), Biko (sweet rice cake), Cakes, and more. The Chocolate Kiss Cafe offers this heavenly Dayap Chiffon Cake for those who are not that fan of very sweet desserts. It's a 3-layered chiffon cake with a light dayap and caramel filling, marshmallow icing, and candied dayap rind on top. We bought a whole 9" cake for our mother's birthday because she's not so fond of very sweet cakes. ...Read full post on letteshaven.blogspot.com
Had brunch here earlier today. I ordered Vigan Longganisa which I found to be less garlicky than expected. Regarding the fried rice that came with it, I expected it to be less sticky. However, it was. It seemed like just some steamed rice that they placed into the pan & put some garlic. Voila! Fried rice ???? Miggy wanted to really order Carbonara but with my recent experience of a rather salty carbonara, I urged him to order something else. Glad he took my advice. He got Salisbury Steak instead. According to him, the meat was rather bland but was compensated with the sauce. Nothing really special though. Also, he didn't like the rice. It seemed like it was undercooked. Customer service-wise, they gave me a bottle of vinegar but no saucer came with it. When I requested from one of their waiters, he pointed me to the kitchen staff. I was puzzled as to why. Good thing another waitress overheard and gave me the saucer I needed. However, the saucer was still wet. I wouldn't mind wiping it off but if they stack their saucers like that, it just doesn't seem hygienic. When we asked for our bill, same waiter whom I asked saucer from pointed to the cash register. I didn't get what he was trying to say again ???? So I requested for it from another waiter. Yes, he gave us our bill but didn't seem glad to be of service though. Most of their crews today just seemed disinterested in flashing a smile at 11am.
