She gave this to us as a treat and reward for a job well done. The first floor was a bit too small for our group so we were recommended to climb to the third floor. Thankfully we did because the view up there took us to what looks like a dining room in an old Spanish inspired house here in the Philippines. I like the nicely colored windows and ceiling fans even if it is an air-conditioned room. We choose a long table with enough seating to accommodate all of us. Service The service crew was attentive to our needs. Our orders were taken immediately. We are all famished and looking forward to our lunch. Food When our food was served we immediately tried each of the dishes. I did take note of my favorites which was the Crispy Dinuguan, the pork was cooked like Lechon kawali (pan-fried) before it was cooked with the pig's blood. It was so tasty that I use the sauce for my rice. I don't usually eat Kare Kare but, Kanin Club's kare kare tasted so good that it made me a believer that there is a Kare Kare that can rival my great grandmother's recipe thanks to the dish we were served with. I failed to take note of the prices though since this was a treat that we did not pay for though. Crispy Pork Binagoongan was also another surprise. Even if I notice that almost all of the dishes we ordered are mostly pork. I like it but, it did not make the list of my favorites though. Maybe next time I will try other dishes. Overall, it was a fun afternoon spent with friends and colleagues for the love of good company and good food.
Had dinner at Kanin Club (finally last Thursday with my constants. The ambiance is truly homey and the place is spacious, it even has a second floor, I think. But because it was 8:30 PM and the place closes at 10 PM, when we got there, the restaurant is a bit empty. There were few customers inside. The building has a parking lot but you'll have to pay 30 pesos I think, after the first hour. Anyway, so we ordered the following with our feedback on each food: Chopsuey Oh how I loved the crunchiness and the freshness of the vegetables. This was well cooked and tastes great. The freshness of the vegetables is what makes it very tasty. Everyone with me liked the vegetables with mushrooms. I would definitely come back to Kanin Club just to order this again (I like veggies . The serving was also pretty generous, one order served the four of us. Crispy Dinugan My friends liked it. I wasn't able to eat it because I can't consume meat. But they described it to me and it was indeed crispy even if it didn't look like it. Pochero Because this is a tomato based food, I wasn't able to eat it but I tried to taste it a bit and it was indeed flavorful. The serving size is one pot, probably good for three people. One comment: The restaurant looked dark. It needs more lights on at night. We all liked what we ordered. We'd definitely go back. The service is good, too. :
Dined here a few weeks ago when my kare-kare craving was too strong. It was disappointing. My husband ordered one of their pancits as well, he finished the whole plate, but I found it a bit saltier that what I prefer. I also ordered their Sinangag na Sinigang, and it was spot on, as always! I was surprised that their pad thai was actually good, though! Didn't expect that from a Filipino restaurant.
Everything we ordered was better than we expected. We ordered their ensaladang manga with salted eggs which is surprisingly flavorful. Their sinigang na salmon sa miso was a little bit on the salty side but nevertheless savory. Their blue marlin kilawen was divine.
We arrived early lunch time and surprisingly, there were no customers yet since it’s a holiday during our visit. Anyway, we ordered their best seller crispy dinuguan and bistek pinoy paired with garlic rice. Totally satisfied and we end up full. The staffs were nice and service was fast. However, they need to fix their AC system because it was so hot during out visit.
