Black Bear Diner - Puyallup

Always love coming here. Everyone is super friendly and they are super patient. My grandma came with us the other day and they were super sweet with her and took the extra time to let her order exactly what she wanted. Tony came by the table to check in on us when the waitress was busy and even took the time to have a conversation with her even though they were super busy.

Not only is the food at this diner good, but the servers are amazing. One server, especially Mary, is a wonderful server! She serves us basically every time and is amazing at her job! She's nice and very accommodating!!

This restaurant embodies the stereotype that white people can't cook or don't know how to season their food. Despite craving biscuits and gravy, I was disappointed with the lack of flavor in the dishes. The biscuits were overly crispy, the gravy lacked taste, and even the potatoes and sausage links were bland. If you prefer low-sodium meals, this place is perfect for you as the only seasoning available is likely salt and pepper on the table. Don't expect any spice or seasoning beyond that, you might need to bring your own.

I always have sat at the counter, which I enjoy. Service should be better seated at a counter than it is here. It's okay, former ScramBowl lover. However, I've witnessed this item go downhill since they opened this location. I'm not sure why they never toast my English Muffins either (3 times in a row). They are gross untoasted, I wonder if the cook would like his that way. I'm probably done here now with so many other breakfast options nearby, and many let downs over many visits. This location doesn't hold up to many other Black Bear Diners I've been to traveling.

The food was good, though nothing particularly outstanding, but still tasty. Our group of six had six meals, three desserts, three waters, and three teas for $150 including tip. The service was quick, friendly, and, most importantly, allowed us to enjoy our time together without interruption. That was the highlight of our dining experience, and I would gladly pay the same amount again for such thoughtful service.
