Riviera And Grill - Punta Gorda

We held our Punta Gorda New Neighbors Meet Greet 11/14/23 at the Riviera at the outside Tiki Bar. We had almost 40 people attend and everyone had a great time even though it was a chilly night. Our server Savannah was amazing! It seemed like every time I mentioned her name she was right there. FYI they are cleaning up the boat graveyard next store, which is awesome.

We arrived at 8:15 with our neighbors to show them what a great place it was. We went to the outside bar and were informed that they closed at 9:00, but we just wanted one drink. The bartender then unexpectedly told us they were closing even though she had just served another couple. We were directed inside, where the bartender said he couldn't serve us as he had already balanced his till. When we returned outside, we were suggested to go to Gators, where we had just come from. I mentioned that it would be difficult for our neighbors to come back if they weren't serving anyone. The bartender replied that we didn't need to come back and began laughing. Overall, we found the experience very unprofessional.

Had a wonderful first experience at Rivera. We were greeted with old Florida hospitality and seated in Rob’s section outside. Rob greeted us quickly and enthusiastically! By the time Rob returned we realized we made an error sitting outside in the dusk as the dreaded State vampire, the “no-seem”, came out to torture us. Rob sprung into action and got us a table inside. We ordered a shrimp cocktail that was fresh, plump and perfectly cooked. We then ordered grouper tacos and a grouper sandwich, both delicious but the tacos were the star of the meal. The service, highlighted by Rob, was really top notch.We will certainly return and will ask to sit in Rob’s section as we truly enjoyed the meal and his assistance!

Our first time there. It was nine of us. They got us seated in a very few minutes. Great service and delicious foods and drink.

We sat at a table on the outside deck allowing us to watch the water as we ate lunch. The deck roof was enough to keep us shaded so we were comfortable. We enjoyed our meals. The server kept our drinks topped off. Overall a very good dining experience.
