Bidrage med feedbackThe way the staff communicates can be a bit unsettling, as they often bump into each other, indicating a lack of smooth operation. They take handwritten orders and manually calculate the weight of the fish, so you might want to brush up on your math skills in case there are mistakes. I noticed one young man who seemed to swap out fish after they had already been weighed. They do provide ice to keep your fish fresh during your trip back home, which is a plus. However, when I had 16 fish weighed and then they were replaced with 14 in a cooler, it felt like the ice was part of a misleading practice. But this is Port Charlotte, where competition is sparse, so you have to make do, especially as a minority. Overall, you do end up with some seafood, and that's what counts. As they say, you take what you can get until better options come along.
I ordered Florida shrimp and clams, and both were very fresh. The restaurant itself isn't much to look at, but the seafood appears to be of good quality.
The staff was friendly and, despite being busy with end-of-day cleanup, they were very helpful. They didn’t have any fresh lobster tails, which I was hoping to try, but they did offer frozen cold water 8 oz tails for $40 per pound. I bought 1 pound. While it was decent for frozen lobster, it wasn't particularly special. I plan to give them another shot when they have fresh tails available, and I’ll also come in the morning instead of late in the day for a better selection.
The restaurant had an unpleasant odor and didn't appear to be very clean. It was also quite hot inside, giving the impression of being in a third-world country.
I had the blue crab, shrimp, and a grouper sandwich, and everything was delicious. The service was excellent as well. It wasn’t anything extravagant, but the prices were great—exactly what we were looking for.
