Even if I can no longer visit the gastaldia with the frequency of a few years ago because now I live in Milan all the time when I return to friuli I give a gift of a marine lunch and mauritium. the quality of food, the competence to serve it and to tell it and the exquisite and familiar kindness of the reception make this place one of the most pleasant gastronomic and cultural experiences of the entire province ofudine
I fell in love with her right away. It seems to go to a magical place. view of the valleys, fresh and clean air. The restaurant is fantastic. each space is curated and created, by the same owner. the kitchen is quality and made with great love. the staff is very careful also to advise you what to get. fresh and seasonal food, so freshness is guaranteed. I highly recommend going in the evening, if in couple. It's romantic! Well, I'd recommend it anyway, I love that place. I hope you try it and you'll be in love with me. Thank you. It's all life.
North of Cividale, lost in the valleys on the way to the Slovenian border, this site (obviously renovated from ruins! was the residence/offices of the local gastaldo, the king’s steward. A small, cute and intimate restaurant with rooms if want to overnight in a quiet environment. Not far from here, at walking distance, there is a church inside the cave (Grotta San Giovanni d’Antro perfect to match visit-meal time, but check their opening times. Welcome drink was offered (I can’t recall when was the last time we had such a WELCOME service in a restaurant ; we ordered as appetizers dried meat cuts, a slice of savory pie, local cheeses and a particular ewe cheese with wild garlic (4,00 p/p ; pasta with wild garlic pesto (7,00 ; crêpes with dandelion greens (7,00 ; braised wild boar with veggies and polenta (12,00 ; slice of sachertorte and a slice of sponge cake with marmalade (4,00 each . Local cuisine with seasonal herbs and ingredients, everything was delicious, strictly homemade.
