El Bambuin - Puerto Rico

I just arrived in Bayamón and was starving after getting off the plane. It was suggested that we visit this restaurant near the Hyatt for a good meal, and they were absolutely right. The restaurant offers Valet parking which is a huge plus. The staff is friendly and easy on the eyes, adding a nice touch to the experience. The restaurant has a cozy bar and a welcoming atmosphere, making you feel like you're among friends. We ordered the steak with onions, rice and beans, avocado, and fried plantains. I couldn't have been more satisfied with the delicious meal. It felt like I was eating a homemade meal cooked by my own mom. I'm glad we found this place less than five minutes away from the Hyatt in Bayamón.

Our first night in Bayamon was made even more special with an amazing dining experience at this restaurant. If all restaurants are like this, we are in for a treat. The menu offers a great variety with English subtitles which was very helpful. The staff was incredibly friendly, greeting us with smiles as soon as we walked in. It was also the hostess' birthday and she sweetly surprised us with a piece of cake to celebrate with her.

The service at this restaurant is quite slow and laid back. We were the only ones in the restaurant when we went on a weeknight around 7:30pm. We ordered the chuleta cancan and the 10oz bistec. Each dish came with rice, sweet plantains, and mufungo as sides. The outside pieces of the chuleta were delicious and crispy, but the main pork area was a bit dry. The bistec with chimichurri sauce was incredibly tasty - I highly recommend it.

I was a little put off at first. When I arrived in an Uber and got dropped off, there was a lot security guy that started quizzing me on what I was doing there. Seemed weird this is a roadside restaurant, nothing fancy. When I walked in, the restaurant was empty with only two other patrons. The waiters just stood there and stared at me until I asked if I should seat myself. Upon being seated, they gave me a teenage girl as a waitress. She was sweet, obviously trying to do her best. Up to this point, not terribly impressed. The best part was the food. I ordered their 14oz churrasco steak with rice beans. Steak was good, beans were excellent and good with the rice. Overall, I was happy to eat there and wouldn't be opposed to going back. If they could tighten up on their service, it would be an even more attractive option.

Great food, great service both from the wait staff and the parking security. Not many english speakers, but the menu here has english translations. Walked here from the Hyatt Place nearby, and felt a little unsafe would recommend taking an Uber here instead, but excellent food overall. Got the appetizer sampler and the shrimp mofongo here so good.
