The Happy Sumo Provo

Birthday dinner. Service was as good as it gets. Ambiance was great. Food was good and well-presented.

Not sure what's happened with food quality but it hasn't tasted great for a few years. Ordered a Cosmopolitan roll, my standard order, and this time it was more blah than it usually is. They removed garlic edamame from the menu. Ordered the seaweed salad and I think I can get the exact same thing at the same quality from the local Asian grocery store. Very unfortunate.

The waitress at this restaurant was incredibly understanding and very willing to accommodate our questions, which was greatly appreciated. It should be noted that we received a different answer regarding the tofu and tempura than a previous review, so it is advisable to exercise caution. Both dishes can be made without breading to make them vegan. The staff was honest and willing to cater to our requests. For a non-vegan restaurant, their level of customer service was superb.

The veggie tempura roll (without sumo sauce) at this restaurant is fantastic. Their tempura is made without egg and the vegetable maki is delicious. The lettuce wraps and peanut stir fry are also excellent choices.
