Bruges Waffles Frites - Provo

Delicious. Creative. High taste comfort also. You have a photo of the King Queen of Belgium hanging on the wall... I thought it was a nice touch. I had the monster waffle small frits with lemon pepper dill sauce... SO FULL! Heavenly.

If you’re craving some comfort food, this is the place. They have lots of delicious options to dress up their fluffy, crisp waffles, but I’m partial to their Nutella strawberry pairing. They have these seasoned fries that you pair with a sauce (check out the photos), and they have lots of fun, unique flavors. They have other meal options like waffle sandwiches, but I’d recommend the desserts and/or fries. Overall Standing: Take It or Leave It in Provo (but great for snacks and desserts)

The food is a bit pricey for what you receive, but it’s still enjoyable. I appreciate the daily specials and the $2 Tuesdays. I deducted one star for the high prices and another for the service, which is consistently slow. I enjoy this place, but it could benefit from some adjustments in either price or portion sizes, as well as an improvement in service speed. The chicken served with the waffles has a nice texture but lacks flavor, reminding me of cafeteria chicken—just basic. On the other hand, the waffles have an excellent texture and are quite sweet.

They really do serve some of the best French fries you can find anywhere, and they offer a great selection of inventive fry sauce flavors. Unfortunately, that's where the positive aspects come to an end. I ordered a waffle sandwich, and it was disappointing—I couldn't even finish it. The meat was of prepackaged Oscar Meyer quality, which was quite lacking. While using a waffle as the sandwich bread was a creative idea, it didn't compare to a good slice of bread. The fries are fantastic, but they are on the pricey side. The rest of the food is reasonably priced, but the quality leaves much to be desired.

The chicken and waffles dish was overly gooey, and I can’t recommend it. When I noticed it was undercooked, I mentioned it to two employees. However, they didn’t suggest making us a new one. Instead, they insisted that this was the intended texture of the waffle and that it would firm up as it cooled.
