Bidrage med feedbackExcellent seefood and deserts. Staff was really kind and attentive. We went back 3 times during our holiday. The mussels are phenomenal and chocolate fondant is done to perfection. But all the other food we tasted was great. We also got limoncello and myrth liqour as a treat
First you get welcomed by the boss Philippe, who is always keen to have a conversation with you and suggest what meal to select if you have difficulties to make a choice (do not hesitate to ask him). I opted for combination of pasta and gambas all with a delicious lobster sauce. My wife Muriel went for Tuna and it was just cooked the best way she had hoped for. Deserts are amazing as well,and if you and take the time to enjoy and take a bit more than one dish it might happen that you get the limoncello or myrtus liquor at the end (we cannot of course guarantee but it happened to us very very frequently). Take the time to discuss with Philippe as he is an authentic person, willing to know about you and exchange about stories and current Corsican mood. We go to this restaurant each time we are in Propriano, and it's always a pleasure to be there.
We had two glases of rose, Linguine Mezzanotte, Linguine Alla Norma and one Tiramisu to share. The size of the main meal was good so we only had one dessert for two persons. The taste of the meals was ok as well as the price performance. We paid less than 40 Euros. The location is not really comfortable if you eat outside because you will sit right next to the street. Nevertheless I would recommend the restaurant for a simple and cheap priced dinner.
We were in the mood for mussels and this restaurant claimed their specialty was mussels. Located on the main drag in Propriano, a terrace used by pedestrians and dogs alike and tables close to the roadway to enjoy the exhaust from cars and motorbikes. When we asked for a table for two away from the exhaust smell, the owner almost died as this was not a request one should make. We finally got the table we wanted. The customer here is not always right.The owner then gave up on us and sent the waitress to take our order. The mussels Corsica style and Rochefort style were tasty, however, mussels could have been cleaned better. Quite a few unopened mussels in the batch. Fries were ok, without being great. Asked for mayo and had to ask again ten minutes later. Mayo had been sitting in the fridge for some time, as the top was darker and slightly dried out. Advised we would not need water, but got it. Once again, service was good, however not particularly friendly. Smiles were not on the menu, so we did not get any of these. Lots of restaurants here, however prices seemed on the high side.
Each time we go to Propriano, we never miss the opportunity to have lunch or dinner at U Valincu restaurant. You can eat pasta and many other mediterranean dishes. You are always welcomed by the boss, Philippe. He is a very kind person and will give you good advice in selecting food and wine. On top of fantastic pasta of all types with sea food or meat or special fish or meat dishes, homemade desserts are just delicious. We went to u Valincu restaurant many times and we were never disappointed. There is a particular pleasant atmosphere at this restaurant.
