A Taste Of Memphis - Princeton

We were just passing through on a road trip but we'd come back just for this place. This place is real, authentic BBQ. It's a sweet little place, tons of food for your money, the food is delicious, and it's a comfortable place to hang out. I got the pulled chicken platter with BBQ bakes beans, fried green tomatoes, hush puppies, and mac and cheese. It was about $40 for 2 people. The fried green tomatoes were the best I've ever had; crispy breading, soft juicy tomatoes, and an amazing sauce with some zing to it. The chicken was shredded fine and the BBQ sauce was peppery and tangy. The beans were awesome, really great oniony flavor. The Mac and cheese was really gooey and cheesy and the hush puppies were delicious and fried to perfection. The atmosphere is really relaxed. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you. There's great old time music (that probably came from Memphis) playing overhead and there's tons of pictures on the walls of artists from Memphis. It's almost like a step back in time a few decades. Stop in and check it out! You won't be sorry!

At a time this was a good place for lunch and I would recommend it. Today, however, after I no longer heard in two years, I was very disappointed at the restaurant as a whole. The service was terrible. The soils were dirty and were obviously not tied or chopped in a time. Tables were not clean and felt sticky at touch. I ordered a loaded baked potato that was at best lukewarm. It was not hot enough to melt the cheese and warm the acidic cream. The pulled pig was stacked high, but it was hardly room temp and so dry! I poured babbque sauce to moisten the meat, but that was also a great disappointment. Don't waste your time and money to this place. It needs the owners to monitor the operation and do some quality control. I'm so sorry not to publish a cheap review, but it's shameful what happened to this food business. ?

Excellent! Many food choices and was quite expensive, many great pages, drawn chicken was delicious, service counter was very courteous

Extremely friendly and helpful staff, large smoked grill, and much more food than you can eat. (Pulled pig makes big remains for tacos or nachos!

The food is delicious and cheap. They also give military discounts. You can't go without eating here. Nice friendly Cora took time to talk. Did the short waiting time go fast?
