Wheelwright Arms - Powys

I couldn't have chosen a better place to spend my birthday lunch. Firstly, the host and hostess were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and I had a great time chatting with them. Secondly, I made the mistake of parking on a slope and couldn't reverse my car, but the kind landlord helped me out. Lastly, the food was delicious and to top it off, the landlord even surprised me with two small cakes, although he apologized for not having a candle. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I stopped by this restaurant while passing through. We were extremely impressed with the excellent service and delicious food. My wife ordered the gammon and I ordered the scampi, both dishes were very generous portions at a reasonable price. We were unable to finish our meals because of the large portions. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant next time we are passing through.

The restaurant was friendly and welcoming. The home-cooked food was tasty and the portions were generous, especially the syrup sponge and custard! The Scotch eggs were freshly cooked that day, so I took one away to enjoy later - it was delicious! I will definitely be returning.

Proper local pub, no frills, excellent beer and fantastic pub grub at its best. Reasonably priced and excellent quality!

Good honest privately owned pub, grub, couldn't fault it, hot on warm plates, good portion. The chain pub type of customer wouldn't like it I'm delighted to say. Good pint of Wye Valley ale as well.
