Anchor Bar - POWHATAN

The restaurant was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday night, but it was only 5:00 PM. The wings were fantastic, as well as the Sampler Appetizer. There was a good selection of dishes and our server, named David, was very nice and attentive. We definitely plan on returning to this restaurant.

The restaurant was empty on Saturday night. the service was not really good. the waiter has forgotten a part of my order. no separate dish with appetizer or dinner, so we had to hunt someone on the floor. not attentive. the manager had to bring us our neck when we were done. that was our second time, we're not going back.

Though we were seated immediately, wait time for food after ordering, including appetizer (chicken wings, their specialty) was 50 minutes. Waitress told us how they were packed , with 5 empty tables behind us. I believe they are understaffed and staff they have are poorly trained. 1 of 4 entrees ordered never arrived and after re-ordered, came out when we were done (after we finally split one entree between 2 people), and it was still the wrong item. Each member of staff blamed the other for the mistake. In addition, they were out of multiple items, 2 of three entrees that were served were incorrect in toppings/dressings put on burger that were undesired and wrong side dish. Wings were good, but the wait for them was definitely not worth it. Waitress was apologetic, but we will definitely not be going back.

The appetizers took 45 minutes to be delivered. The meal took 1 hour and 10 minutes. We had to find our own silverware. We had to beg for refills. There wrre no towels in the bathroom and they brought the wrong meal. Horrible experience. We will never go back.
