Bidrage med feedbackI’m not gonna lie, since the change of the new owners years ago, anyone who knew the old Nelly’s ; it was different. The food wasn’t as tasteful, rice wasn’t as fresh, portions of meat become less and the prices went up. This was a favorite food spot of mine that quickly time and time after coming back started to decline. Needless to say, I always come back in hopes of a different outcome. Going in yesterday I’ve had the best meal from there in a while. The pork shoulder had wonderful flavor, the beans weren’t over salted and seasoned. I am so impressed with this location as it’s always been my favorite one. Will be back again. Lady helping me was also a sweetheart.
Went to a friend's birthday party who purchased food from here. Was amazed at how delicious the empanadas were!Perfect crust and filled with delicious meat. I tried the chicken and beef and both were on point! Immediately brought me back to childhood. It's been a long time since I had empanadas like this. I will for sure be going here. Online shows the price per empanada at $2.50 and my friend said they paid $3.50 each. Still a good deal but you may want to verify price changes before ordering large quantities. They were the first thing to go. Didn't get a chance to try anything else but my husband enjoyed the rice and beans and a few other things.
I was in da place many months ago. last year there was a nice girl. she served my food very good. recently I was back bc I like Dominican food. I don't usually go to Arlington a lot. but there was a girl this time different who had a bored face. n she was just looking at her phone apparently she was having arguments with another person on the phone. while I was waiting for my food she was never aware if I wanted something else. while they were preparing my food behind. n only she had a bored face it's a nice place but the customer service it's lousy rn
When they show up, there are no prices or references to what is on the menu, besides a small sign that lists the smoothie aromen. the spiced rice was super salty. the goat was pretty good.
I did get there about 15 mins before closing so maybe it was because the food was sitting for a while but I chose this one because I didn't like the one on Main St. The Pork was amazing but the plate was literally 90% rice and 10% meat way too much rice. The Goat was super tough hard to eat but would go back and try again. Maybe earlier in the day.
