She and her manager made sure my dad was able to have the beer he wanted and enjoyed his experience. The food was amazing! I really recommend the mussels and the duck. Thanks so much to everyone for making this such a lovely dining experience!
My family and I absolutely loved Farmers and Chefs. Our waitress, Jessica, was absolutely the best ever. Every dish was perfectly cooked, had amazing flavor, and had great presentation. The brown ale was very tasty, as well as the rosé. The portion sizes were perfect for the price, especially with the scallops and risotto; five huge diver scallops perfectly cooked and seasoned on a voluptuous bed of tarragon risotto. Our appetizer, the crab cakes, was immenseful flavorful and the wasabi sauce complimented the dish beautifully. This is definitely a pricier restaurant overall but you absolutely get what you pay for.
Our server was excellent - attentive, friendly, and personable, which added to our dining experience. We started with the burrata crostini appetizer, which was delicious. The combination of sweet apple slices with the cheese was a nice touch. The scallops were good, but the pink peppercorns on top were a bit distracting. While I appreciated the contrast in flavors, I felt that the peppercorns did not quite work well with the dish. For my main course, I ordered the roasted duck breast. Unfortunately, it was overcooked and dry, even though I had requested it to be cooked rare. The flavors on the plate were good, but it lacked seasoning, especially salt. My partner's burger was cooked well, but it also needed more seasoning. My cocktail, the Bohemian Passion, was delicious with a nice blend of flavors, although it was a bit too sweet for my taste. My partner's Mai Kirsche cocktail was satisfactory, but he felt that he had tasted better old fashions with higher quality bourbon at other establishments. Overall, our dining experience was not terrible, but it was not outstanding either. There was nothing particularly memorable about our meal that would make us want to return.
I really wanted to like this place but was underwhelmed. The menu looked really good and my husband and I decided to go this past Sunday based on the great reviews. We called two or three days ahead and were easily able to get an early reservation but they advised they were not having brunch because of the college graduations, which we were fine with. Since we had an early reservation, I had no issue parking in the strip of spaces next to the restaurant. Since it was humid, we dined inside. Our server was fantastic, very attentive, friendly and personable and contributed to the experience. We started out with the burrata crostini appetizer which was tasty. It was actually a nice contrast having a thin slice of slightly sweet apple under the cheese. The scallions were good, but the pink peppercorns on top detracted from the flavor of the dish. I understand the approach for contrast (very sweet fig jam, slightly sweet apple, sweet balsamic reduction, cheese) but I didn’t agree that the peppercorns worked. It was a nice appetizer but nothing I couldn’t recreate myself at home. For entrée, I had the pan roasted duck breast. The waitress asked me if mid rare was OK but the duck came out way overcooked and dry. I probably should have sent it back. Everything on the plate tasted good but the meat and asparagus needed salt (duck was nicely seasoned except for salt and being overcooked, mash was delicious). My husband’s burger was cooked properly but also needed salt. My bohemian passion cocktail was fantastic. There were a lot of interesting flavors that worked well together and made a delicious drink (but I like sweet drinks, and it was definitely sweet). My husband’s Results May Cherry was fine, he’s definitely had better old fashioneds and has had higher end bourbon at home. Overall, there was nothing terrible about our meal but also nothing that would make us return.
I had a fantastic dinner last night at a restaurant with farmers and chefs. The outdoor seating is amazing, and the service was excellent. The pulled pork and fries were absolutely delicious. My only criticism is the limited parking lot. I highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to go back.
