Henna Coffee - Pottsville

Went for Brekkie on a Saturday morning only because "The Corner Stop Cafe" was busy.The sign out the front said - "New Local Owners" so after previous bad experiences we thought we'd give them another try.Mistake!The place was empty and we were told that there was only a Limited Menu Available - cakes, bacon/egg rolls, toast - apparently the Chef had called in sick?I ordered 2 coffees, the price on the cups near the register said $4.50 for the regular size. After I paywaived my card I noticed the charge was for $9.20. On asking why, I was told there was a 20c surcharge for Credit Cards. I asked why I wasn't told about the charge as I would have paid Eftpos or cash and asked why no signs about the charge. The girl said - oh, there used to be a sign but it's not there now.I bailed out and asked for a Refund which I got and was told by the girl, you know you can get food around "The Corner". I said don't worry, I will be.This Cafe has had a Bad Name with Locals. After seeing it apparently has "New Local Owners" it's a shame that they still haven't got their act together.Stick with "The Corner Stop" - it's always worth the wait !!

Quite simply Henna makes the best coffee. We love our morning coffee and Henna has become our favorite place. The staff are excellent and the food is also great. The place has recently changed ownership and although that is a little sad, the new owners are making many improvements. More importantly, they are not changing the coffee and are keeping the staff.

If you go here on a Sunday expect to have an extra $10 put on a breakfast for two people (which really changes the choice of venue) We were shocked to find at one paying, that 15% was added as there is no obvious warning. It should be on the front window. The food was lovely and we would visit again but not on a Sunday. Other cafes just factor in the extra staff costs on Sundays and only charge this surcharge on public holidays. Also, the coffee was not really hot enough, but maybe that was a one off problem.

Stopped here after our morning walk. Loved it! Especially the banana cake with strawberry and banana. Great coffee, right strength for me. No wifi though. They need that. Lovely service

I purchased a take away coffee 10 minutes ago. That was the nicest coffee I have purchased for a long time. Thank you Henna Coffee staff.
