La Casa Flamenca - Portsmouth

The food was great, service was quick and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Good Gambas Pil Pil and Padron Peppers. Will definitely go again. We turned up early but were seated without any fuss. It was busy so it may pay to book.

I had a great time at this restaurant. The booth seating was comfortable and the service from all the staff was friendly. The food was delicious. My favorites were the deep-fried aubergine with honey, pork ribs, and pork belly bites. The white wine and cream sauce with the mussels was incredible - I couldn't stop dipping everything in it, it was so tasty! Unfortunately, they had run out of Belvedere vodka and only had Smirnoff available.

Set in Port Solent Marina boardwalk this Spanish restaurant offer the usual array of tapas, paellas and spanish foods. They do not specify which part of Mediterranean Spain the dishes are from. The dishes were well presented and served by a young waiter who less than knowledgeable about the dishes and drinks but pleasant and polite.

Three of us visited this lovely restaurant for the first time on a Saturday lunchtime and opted for an authentic Spanish Tapas meal. So, we ordered nine tapas dishes, a jug of sangria and a bottle of sparkling water and settled down to a great lunch. All of the tapas dishes were tasty and of a good portion size and were selected from a very wide range of options, making it possible for each of us to choose our favourites. The staff were friendly and appropriately attentive, but not overbearing. The restaurant was very clean and attractive. The overall price was fair, and we will definitely be coming back!

There were 2 large groups when we arrived, and we were very surprised at how quickly the food came as usually the food is delayed in these situations. Unfortunately, this seems to have come at a cost as 24 hours after our visit my husband started having violent diarrhoea and this continues as I write. This is a man who has a stomach of steel. He had calamari and king prawns which I did not, so I'm assuming this is the reason I'm okay.
