Captain D's - Portsmouth City

PRO TIP: The food is hot, so be sure to lift the lid when you get it to let it breathe a little; otherwise, it might get soggy. Also, turn on your seat heater to keep some warmth during the drive home. I had the 10-piece fish family meal and the 4-piece chicken meal, along with green beans, fries, hush puppies, jalapeño poppers, and roasted okra. The fish was crispy, and the chicken was just as good. The green beans were perfectly seasoned, needing nothing extra. The fries, hush puppies, and okra were fresh and slightly crispy too! The jalapeño poppers were also quite tasty. Just a heads up, the drive-thru speaker can be a bit tricky, so make sure to speak clearly and patiently, but that's the only minor drawback! I really love it here!

Jada was absolutely fantastic! She's amazing, and I will definitely be coming back! Shoutout to Jada for her outstanding customer service today. The manager here is also exceptional; he really knows how to provide great service to every customer who walks through the door. Overall, the entire staff in Hopewell, Virginia, is wonderful!

I appreciate that this is the only Captain D's location where you can leave your tray on the table and someone comes to clear it off for you. The staff was friendly, and the food was excellent. Since I'm not accustomed to a fast food-style seafood restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised by the experience.

The food was fresh and delicious, with the exception of corn, unfortunately. Service was really good table service and friendly staff. Smidge expensive, but still with it.

This is the BEST Captain D's location I've ever been to! The food is ALWAYS GOOD, prepared well, packaged nicely, and the service is always great. Not one time have I been disappointed. I've eaten at several Captain D's locations from Richmond city to Petersburg; the Hopewell location is by far the best location.
