La Chiocciola - PORTOMAGGIORE

If you dare to trust the GPS and go offroad (40 min north of Bologna), you find this little gem. A B&B but with a fine dining restaurant. Only €50 for a 6 course tasting menu. The owner, an d nice gentleman, tolds us they focus on frogs and snail, this thr attached logo. It’s a standard italian swtup but the variety of dishes is great vs the normal Bologna style menus. Go for the snails and eel. Very good

Some place!!!! It 's hide on the countryside of Bologna, actually, nearby Castelmaggiore. The lumache are sensational !!! Taste and presentation are really over the rate!!!! I 'll definitely comeback soon!!! The place is beautiful, wine choice (Franciacorta) was great!!! ... and the personal has a special attention to all of us! Just love it!!!

Greeted by the owner who explained the menu to us in English. I ate vegetarian as they were happy to cook and my husband had a fish dish. Starters were our favorite my zucchini flan and his anchovies with buratta were simple and amazingly!

I've never been to this restaurant, and I have to say it was a good discovery. I tried the swallowing menu and found every single perfect flow. Excellent appetizers, the risotto with frogs is the best I've ever eaten, and also the cut and dessert were perfectly balanced in flavors. A place where I'll definitely come back. the location also deserves a nice vote, elegant but not cold place, where you feel immediately at home, also merit of the owner who knows how to welcome and pamper the customers.

We stopped by while we went on vacation. the choice was casual...the excellent result. a nice place, a service at the height of the very precise and welcoming. the special menu for its delicacies. excellent quality/price. We definitely recommend it.
