Bar Joao do Cabeco - Porto Santo

Place is nice and selection is nice. Unfortunately, our experience was horrible. Ordered Octopus and it came very overcooked and dry ..soo chewey. We had to return it, and ordered the Bacalhau instead. .. never got it. We were so upset, we asked for the bill..never got that either. I had to get up and ask someone to get it as we needed to get out of this place. Owner (or manager) came around and instead of apologizing for the situation was condescending as if we never had octopus before. He completely missed the point one of our family members sat there for 30min and never received her replacement meal. Overpriced and poor service. Ps. We weren't even there on a weekend. It was a Tuesday

The food was great, the service too. You can book a table in advance, but if you don’t book, rotation is high so you usually don’t have to wait for long. Very crowded, but we were served promptly and efficiently. The bolo do caco is a must. Start with the traditional poncha!

Do not recommend! It has an absurd value, chopped big 17€ that seems small. And the meat... Escaped?

Great food and fast service; choose the picado and was delicious; other options are available. Make sure to go a bit early to get a table

After an unplanned detour from Madeira, this little place redeemed our first day of holiday. Lunch snacks very reasonable. Evening meal fantastic and exceptional value. And staff couldn’t of been nicer. Cannot recommend enough
