Bidrage med feedbackNovikov is not what it used to be. Having been to ones in London and Dubai, Novikov Porto Cervo is below average. Very rushed service that ruined the night. 1000+ euro for 7 people without drinks... because we never got the drinks menu
Together with my husband, we were spending our vacations in Sardinia a couple of days ago and we decided to give ourselves a treat and dine in Novikov PORTO CERVO on our final evening! As it was impossible to reach them by phone (the phone was constantly busy) I decided to use my OPENTABLE account to book a table for two. The reservation was made for 13 Aug 2019 at 21.30 and confirmed through OPENTABLE on 12 August (see attached) on 12 Aug 2019. On the day of the reservation (2 hours prior our booking) I receive an email that says: Novikov Porto Cervo Tue, Aug 13, 7:46 PM (2 days ago) to me Good afternoon Thank you for choosing Novikov Porto Cervo Sorry, but we are fully booked for tonight Best regards Zakaria No further explanation is made. So I am really very upset and decide to call the restaurant. The girl who answers tells me that The manager will call me in half an hour , which OF COURSE never happened. So I decided to call them again in 45 minutes as we had no other reservation for our last night in Sardinia and I was sure that a professional , five star superstar restaurant like Novikov would overcome such a mistake for which they were responsible. I called again, this time I got through the manager who told me in an totally obnoxious and snobbish way that there was nothing to do. That they had no access to the Open Table reservations and he started repeating the same meaningless excuses... We were left without a reservation and without a proper apology! I was literally shocked and decided to share this horrible experience with you all! We had to eat in our hotel on our last night and you can imagine how happy we were!!!! I really wish that the manager and staff of the restaurant will get a warning on the issue and as I am writing newspaper articles in my country, I will also make sure that the news spreads.
This was such a disappointing experience in so many ways. The service staff was completely confused and unattentive the order was served in a completely messed up way (with the starter for my partner only arriving as the very last item, after asking for it TWICE, noting that it comes from a different kitchen , special requests were ignored, and there was no class or joyful dining experience. Instead, it all felt so rushed and stressed like we were at a fast food restaurant! While Porto Cervo is generally really pricey (which we have been well aware of since our very first visit years ago , usually you get amazing service and high class ingredients for your money. Not at Novikov especially the Sushi is almost tasteless (had better Sushi at a Sainsbury 's supermarket or really any other Sushi restaurant , the portion sizes are an insult (like... 33 Euros for 2 small Nigiri, or 49 Euros for a BABY appetizer sized california roll? really??? , no fancy decoration or high end experience whatsoever. I 'd also be absolutely fine with a 15. Euros coperto... if there actually had been anything to cover, except a tiny setup of veggie sticks with mustard. When I addressed the entire array of issues, no attempt of making up for our experience was made at all. Instead, the waiter rather cocky blurted out so you 've never been to a Novikov before? no, and thank you very much, we won 't have to try out any of the other locations anymore after THIS experience. The payment lady at least acknowledged my honest feedback, then took my money and disappeared as well. We spent TWICE the amount of money at Quattropassi Al Pescatore around the corner, on the night before, which belongs to the very same hotel (so one would expect at least some kind of general property wide standard . We had the exact opposite experience, service was competent, highly attentive, the overall experience was absolutely delightful, food to die for. Novikov... nope, what a waste of time money. Never again!
