Bidrage med feedbackI?ve lived on Division for almost 2 years. If I ever leave the Richmond neighborhood, I?ll miss Lauretta jeans the most. I bring anyone from out of town to pick out a dessert. I bring their cinnamon rolls to brunches. My wedding cake will be from LJ?s. Theyhave perfected the art of dessert pastries, the flakiest crust my tastebuds have had the gift of tasting on quiches and piesalike. This cinnamon roll pictured was a spiritual experience. Doughy, moist, and a hint of nuttiness from what I think is abrown butter based icing YUM. Sure you have to wait in a line, but the desserts are premade so the service goes quick. Alsoisn?t a line the mark of a great place? I?m dying at the review below that said they had to stand in the rain ? damn Jackie Ican?t control the weather! Also, the service is awesome and the whole team is so cheery friendly. If you live in Portland oryou?re even just visiting, do not miss out on experiencing Lauretta Jean?s. We love you guys!
We tried out three different chocolate pies, but unfortunately, the chocolate was not to our liking. The flavor seemed off and we couldn't understand why it had such positive reviews. We ended up spitting it out right away. However, we found the strawberry shortcake to be interesting and delicious. It was a great concept. On the other hand, the lemon cake was not up to par. We had to wait in line, which was not worth it in the end. The prices were reasonable though. The staff was okay in my opinion, but my husband felt they were unfriendly.
Holy cow, this place is amazing! Everything we had was incredible, and as you can see from the photo, we got a nice smattering of delicious goods! The salted honey pie was unique and especially tasty, as was the strawberry short pie (yes, it's strawberryshortcake inside a pie)! Also, the lemon bars were out of this world! We look forward to going and trying some of their savorygoods as well for brunch someday.
I absolutely adore Lauretta Jeans. Their pies, like honey pie and chocolate chess, are all fantastic. The brownies are rich and delightful, and even their tomato jammers and biscuits are superb. It's a great spot to grab dessert after exploring Division Street. Just be prepared for a possible wait in line!
If you don't try a pie or three from Lauretta Jean's, you're missing out. I've sampled over 15 pies and they were all fantastic. The only one I wasn't crazy about was the salted honey, which had a strong honey flavor but was too sweet for my taste. Their other items are also worth trying, including the tomato jammer, red velvet, quiches, cheesecakes, cream puffs, and rugelach. And did I mention the delicious red velvet?
