Casa Colima - Portland

What a hidden treasure! The service here is excellent. There’s plenty of seating available, including outdoor options. The festive decor adds to the experience. We only had to wait about 15 minutes on a Saturday night. I ordered the carne asada chimichanga, and I loved the tender meat—no fillers in sight! The beans were cooked just the way I like them. The chips were light, fresh, and delicious. The attentive staff made sure our drinks were always full and kept us supplied with ample chips.

Great! I think I’ve found my new favorite Mexican restaurant. My lunch came out quickly, and I enjoyed warm chips with salsa and bean dip while I waited. I had a chili verde chimichanga and a tamale as part of a two-item combo. The staff was friendly, and the decor was bright and inviting. I can't wait to bring my family back; I’m sure my kids will love it too!

I've visited Casa Colima a few times throughout the Covid pandemic, during both the summer and winter seasons. The outdoor patio is well-equipped with hanging plastic sheets that protect diners from the elements while allowing enough fresh air to create the feeling of an open space rather than being fully indoors. The food maintains its classic, traditional presentation, which I appreciate when I'm in the mood for comfort food. I often find myself craving the classics, served with rice and cheese-topped refried beans, and Casa Colima consistently delivers on all counts. During a recent relaxed lunch, I noticed that the Christmas playlist included at least five different versions of "Feliz Navidad." Despite it being a catchy tune that easily gets stuck in your head, I considered it a delightful addition to my meal, perfectly complementing my combination plate. (By the way, I ordered a medium-sized combo, and it was more than enough food).

We don't like beans but they came with every meal and with every round of chips. Not sure why but the queso dip is $10? The food was average and service was still great despite it being crowded. I wish the fajitas came with any cheese at all. They just hate cheese and love beans. The margarita was perfect. We left with an entire take out box of beans tho.

Great food and amazing service, can’t recommend enough. Two servers in addition to our regular waiter checked up on us regularly, ensuring everything was to our satisfaction. Food was delivered to our table less than 10 minutes after ordering, sadly no pictures because we munched it down too quickly. We will definitely return!
