Bistro Agnes - Portland

We came without reservation after an event in the city. we found 2 seats on the bar. a bistro is a very good description. it has a somewhat limited menu, but everything we had was great. the service was somewhat slow, but the restaurant was very full. we started with escargot, it was excellent, perfect for 2. we had a bottle of sancerre, it was good, but a little overpriced. the cassoulet was not what I had in other French restaurants, but ok, different style, not creamy at all. my wife really enjoyed the soles, well prepared and delicious. we would go back, but with a reservation.

Amazing. the first time I wanted to go to lunch, but looked through the window and it seemed a little formal for me this day so my friend and I went to tasty and alder over the road that is always delicious. I just made it back to lunch and loved it. once sitting in the inner, it didn't feel like it was cloged or formal. I had a delicious nicoise salad. all the plates I saw were great. Definitely on high quality culinary restaurant and good representation of the French cuisine. I'll be back soon!

Nice lunch spot in downtown Portland. Good food, good portions, friendly service.

The breakfast is really really incredible. It's so relaxing to sit in this very intimate bistro and dine.

Love that cassoulet! But everything I've ever had here was excellent. It's small, and I wish the tables were further apart, but the food is excellent and the staff are really extraordinarily pleasant, kind, and well informed.
