Bistro Italiano - Portimão

Went for dinner here on one night of our holiday. The waiter was pleasant and efficient. The food was decent. Prices were reasonable.

We ate here twice this past week. The first time, we had a wonderful experience. Service was good and the dinner was delicious (our group had salmon, pizza and chicken Parmesan). The second time couldn’t have been more different. The service was impersonal and extremely...slow. Three of our meals were served at the same time, the 4th came about 10 minutes later. The food was just ok. The server did not return to ask if everything was ok. Based on the second experience, I’m hard pressed to give an average rating. I doubt very much we will return.

Over the space of the week we ate here on two nights. First night I ordered the tagliatelle salmon and my daughter ordered the carbonara. Both dishes were really tasty and went down a treat. Second outing we started with shared garlic bread then carbonara...was ordered again as it was such a hit the first night and I had the rib eye steak. These people know how to cook a steak to perfection, it was mouth watering. Two very pleasant evenings, delicious, faultless food, service and value for money. We couldn't eat at home for this price or we'd eat out more often!

My husband and I arrived here and were greated pleasantly and seated prompt. The waiter took our drinks order and brought them straight away. Upon ordering food we were given focaccia, olive oil and balsamic which we first thought was an appetiser as we didnt...order this. For our meals we both chose Carbonara which were a little bland and had potential to be so much better. After receiving our bill we realised that we had been charged for the focaccia, olive oil and balsamic which we hadn't asked for to begin with. After questioning the charge for the focaccia the attitude of the waiter dropped and he became very arrogant as they clearly hear this often from customers but still don't change their ways. Personally I think this is a sneaky way to try and get more money from tourists. How little the charge may be isn't the case, we would probably have returned custom during our stay in the Algarve if it wasn't for this issue and attitude.

Food was gorgeous, I had the salmon tagliatelle and the fiancé had the carbonara starters where as good as the main meal, and the cocktails are on point! Brilliant place would recommend to anyone!
