Al Tapas Restaurante Wine Bar

Had a gorgeous meal last night at Al tapas. We were glad we walked into the side streets of Alvor and found this hidden gem. We could see a number of Portuguese people entering the restaurant as we approached it. We felt that this was a good sign. Everyone was warmly greeted by the owner who is very knowledgeable about the Portuguese wines he offers on his menu as well as all the food and tapas selections. We chose the superb baked sheeps cheese and the Iberian pork off the specials board. We tried the Portuguese steak for the main course. This was the best we have ever had in Portugal having holidayed here well over 10 times. All this was washed down with a lovely white Douro Valley wine. All in all a great evening in a restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. We shall definitely be back.

We stumbled here by chance, just wanted to drink a drink and then go on. we eat three excellent special tapas dishes, all prepared with careful care in a table next to the road. delicious wein recommendation, really welcoming, cuddly and busy, but not overwhelming. we loved it and returned to our hotel feeling, we had a wonderful evening and possibly ate some of the best eating in alvor!

A very good authentic little restaurant with great service, good tapas and a series of “Teppiscos”. packed and deserved. proved that somewhere still good quality and worth even if only 100m from the tourist center of alvor. the garlic shrimps and the smoked bark, the wine selection for cheap trips, were also excellent.

It's a sweet little Tapas Bar with very friendly service and very good food! We arrived their totally exhausted from a long day and were so happy to end up there. They provided us a perfect end of the day :
