Grand Traverse Pie Company - Portage

I visited this restaurant for lunch because I was craving cake and decided to try the sandwich and soup combo. The turkey Reuben sandwich was absolutely divine! I was so full after lunch that I took my berry cake home and ended up enjoying it for breakfast the next day. The portion was quite large, especially coming straight from the refrigerator. The checkout experience was pleasant, but the appearance and hygiene of the staff member at the front could use some improvement. I don't mean to be harsh, but the young man had greasy, messy hair and looked like he had just rolled out of bed. Overall, this place is like Panera but with a focus on cake—lots of cake! I would definitely return if I'm in the area again.

So many incredible cake choices! We picked up the Cherry Crumble, Banana Cream and Lemon Meringue! Yummy.

Oh, my God, it's worth it. We visited families for a weekend. A family member recommended this place because they work in the area. You said to try the cherry cake on arrival I had to call her and ask what you said again?! We could have tasted them ALL, but we ordered the apple pie front road and the cherry rhubarb pipe to get an idea. OMG, the taste was from the charts. Thank you for making a visit to our mini holiday.

Best cake ever. Service was great. It looked good that I had eaten there. They also have coffee due to the appearance of the thing.

The salad, chicken pot pie, and the strawberry rhubarb pie... I enjoyed every last bite! The service was fast, friendly, and the price was pretty good for as much food as you get! I wish we lived in Kalamazoo because I would come get strawberry rhubarb pie every day for the rest of my life.
