Bidrage med feedbackWe visited the Quarter Grilldeck to the 92. celebrating my mother's birthday. She lives in the area where the neighborhood deck has a reputation rather than a raised place. I had visited the quarterdeck restaurant over 20 years ago, and it was a charming rustic place with the waves breaking onto the rock just outside. This place was quite different. It has a bright, airy facility that is pleasant, although not what I expect. The outer deck looks like a wonderful place to dine on a warm day. The views are spectacular. However, the service and food were not spectacular. Who our waiter spent a lot of his time polishing silverware into a few feet of our table. He was very attentive when we first arrived, but then almost forget about us later in the meal. The waiters were both male, wearing shorts, the hairy, rather unattractive legs. Long pants would have looked much more professional. He never checked again to fill our water back to the desert course. Just not paying much attention to us, and the restaurant was barely crowded. He seemed to have a table in addition to our party of three. My mother ordered fish and chips consisting of two pieces of broken fish, a large part of frits and a small plate of Coleslaw. It is just the same as what we usually get at a much cheaper takeout grill. I had sent squids over rice with vegetables and a ginger pine. The puree was fabulous, but there was only about one tablespoon of it on the plate. I think the rice was reheated, and the vegetables were only carrots and potatoes that also tasted reheated. The Schellfisch was good, but it didn't have much of a seer on it. My daughter ordered a Caesar salad with chicken. It was dressed and limp. We didn't order drinks, but we had two desserts. Our bill was $106. We decided next time that we wanted to enjoy the magnificent view, we would just come for coffee and dessert. The food and the service were simply not worth what we paid.
Excellent food with an amazing view. Great service with a friendly staff. Look at the beach. It is open to the public and is beautiful.
I had been going to the Quarter Deck for over 25 years as a special getaway where the atmosphere was welcoming and uniquely Sou ' west Nova Scotia. Always an unassuming and comfortable 5 star dining experience. t was simple and FANTASTIC. The staff were always...top notch attentive servers with a knowledge and love the area, and the seafood dependable and delectable with prices that were reasonable with the fluctuations of market price. Locals and tourists never minded paying the extra costs due to the whole package of the view, the service and the food. Fast forward to Summer 2022.... Atmosphere sterile and cold with as many tables as they can cram you in, similar to a plane flight. The place was loud and without any ambience... Overpriced everything! Brutal service and hospitality, with no less than 5 servers hanging out at the bar while I fetched my own drinks to accompany our dinner. We felt lime we were intruding on their time. I have never written a review before on anything, but was absolutely shocked at the state of this once loved treasures. If you are dining on the South shore, there are no less than 20 restaurants to pick over the QD. the new and improved Quarterdeck. I sent a few people there not realizing, and the verdict was unanimous. No returns.
I would highly recommend going to the Quarterdeck Grill for lunch after spending time on Summerville Beach. I went with friends for lunch after a morning on the beach, and we were all impressed. The restaurant is located right on the edge of the beach,...connected to the Quarterdeck Resort. Inside, the Quarterdeck Grill was well decorated and clean, and had a fantastic view of Summerville Beach. We all had fish and chips, which came with coleslaw. The haddock was juicy and flavourful, while the batter was crisp and not greasy or oily. The chips were, like the fish, well seasoned and crispy. The side coleslaw was creamy and fresh tasting. Overall, a fantastic lunch.
So good food we had to go back the next day! Since it was a beautiful September day, we sat on the deck with a view of the water a delicious lunch. Three of us enjoyed the Grilled Chicken Sandwich with a side salad, and another...organized a beautiful Chicken Caesar. We said their fish chips were the best, so the next day we returned for four orders from fish chips. You were the best! Not greasy and cooked for perfection. Our only problem was that our portions filled very much. So we had to make a nice long beach walk that was added to our visit to the Quarterdeck Grill.
