Gems House Of Bagels Iii

I've been visiting this restaurant for over 20 years, and during my recent visits, I've noticed a decline in service. Some young staff members seemed more focused on gossiping with each other than on their work. My coffee was made incorrectly twice, and it felt like they were more concerned about talking about their personal lives than providing good customer service. They really need better management to step in and remind the staff to prioritize helping customers over chatting.

I think neither the Port Monmouth nor Belford sites actually have a phone.

The prices are extremely high; I ordered two ham, egg, and cheese sandwiches on a roll, and it cost me $14. There wasn't much ham in them either!

I ordered two bagels and a bagel sandwich. The girl who took my order repeated everything back to me, and I saw her write down the two bagels on the paper bag. When I got them, the bagels were cold and they skimped on the cream cheese, which I found odd since I’m used to more generous servings at other bagel shops. I didn’t bother with the bagel that came with butter. As for the sandwich, I asked for ketchup and hot sauce, but it only had a drop of ketchup and no hot sauce at all. While the bagels themselves weren’t great, they could be passable if you toast them at home and add something to them. The customer service was neither rude nor exceptional. The wait time was a bit long, but considering the number of orders they were handling, it wasn’t too bad—if I hadn’t seen how many orders were coming out, I might have felt differently.

No Sparkle In Gems Bagels. Tiny bagel shop with with a couple tables inside and out. The mediocre customer service left them short of a gold nugget star. Lack of greetings or pearly white smiles did not make me feel welcome at all. In honor of national walnut day, I ordered cinnamon rasin walnut cream cheese on a cinnamon raisin bagel which was rough with a hard exterior and chewy interior that left my jaw a bit jaded from so much chewing. I also ordered a lox and cream cheese bagel which was lack loxster. The lox was pale in color and had no taste. This place was no gem for me.
