Bidrage med feedbackMy friends and I visited this atrocity of an ‘establishment’ on 1st May, awarding 1 star is far too generous and does not even begin to reflect our experience. As someone with Coeliac Disease I was excited that the menu that stated “vegan and gluten free”. We attempted to place our order, and I asked the owner whether she had soya milk, to her disgust she replied “absolutely not”, I then said I did not want a coffee as I was unsure whether the oat milk was gluten free however she insisted that was what I had to have. My friend politely advised her that we did not require the extra coffee, and was met with a furious response, telling her to “go away and sit down”. While waiting in anticipation, I felt a sudden jolt behind me. She had walked into my chair and scolded me for sitting “in the walk way” the chair had been placed there by herself prior to us arriving. She continued to served us drinks we hadn’t ordered, I asked if the oat milk was gluten free to which she shouted “no oat milk is gluten free they are ‘gluten containing cereals’”, as someone that advertises gluten free food, I strongly suggest you invest in culinary training so that you understand exactly what gluten is, and Coeliac disease. I’ll offer you a tip oat’s are not cereals containing gluten, they can however be contaminated during the cultivation process. Gluten free oat milk exists, and I’d recommend you have some if you are planning on offering gluten free and vegan crepes as they will absolutely not be gluten free otherwise. My friends and I were shocked with her behaviour, I left in tears while my friends tried to reconcile the situation with her. She threw the cups in the sink and shouted at them while they tried to pay, foaming at the mouth and swearing (in front of all her customers! . The way the owner spoke to me reduced me to tears, never have I felt so isolated and embarrassed by a waitress/waiter for asking a simple question to avoid the damaging symptoms of my autoimmune disease. Your lack of food safety and knowledge is disturbing, I suggest you take some time to yourself to reflect on the way you speak to paying customers. I hope you’re able to heal from whoever/whatever has hurt you, cognitive behavioural therapy is a great tool. If you’re considering visiting this poor excuse of a cafe for a nice breakfast, don’t.
Love this place. The crepes, coffee and juice are wonderful. The owner is very sweet and welcoming. The view of the sea is absolutely perfect. I’d highly recommend it.
Was here for breakfast fabulous spot nice service loved this place tasty crepe with bacon and cheese
The food is very tasty and the owner is very kind. We saw her putting the oranges on her bicycle and running with her puppy Mai. It was like a scene from a Spanish movie!
If you like to be served by an arrogant and narcissistic German lady (the owner) and like to drink cold coffee and eat dry and overpriced crepes, Café Berlin is the perfect place for you. The worst breakfast I have experienced during my stay in Sitges. Absolutely not recommended. P. S. the juice was quite good.
