Bass Lake Roadhouse - Port Carling

Very rude service. They do not take reservations. We stayed for a beer and asked about getting takeout pizza. They wouldn’t take an advance order and told us to call in the order closer to dinnertime. When we called in our order later, they told us they don’t do takeout. Seems to be an exceptionally poorly run restaurant.

Wait staff was nice however the service was slow . They claimed it was because of a rush but looking at other reviews this has been a problem. Food was what would be expected for pub food

Took a 1/2 hour drive here for my son 's birthday after hearing it was a decent place. I will start with the good; our waiter was very nice and attentive...and the bad; the food was well below average, especially since we waited for so long for our meal. I had the wings; the menu said jumbo but they looked like they came from a runt chick, they were overcooked and the sauce was non-existant. One of us had the fish and chips, both of which were soggy. The rest of the meals were average at best. At least the beer was cold, but likely won 't be back. Not worth the money.

Spent the past month dining in places such as Vancouver, Calgary, Banff, Whistler, Jasper, Rome (Italy) London (UK) and so many others, but always keen to get back to The Bass Lake Road house, our little gem in Muskoka.

Best place in Muskoka for fun evening with good food and cold beer and great service! It ent fine dining but it’s excellent value just love the place!
