Borgo Cerquelle - Pontelandolfo

We ate outside where the food was prepared on a open fire. It was absolutely delicious. Everything from the cheese, wine meat and bread was all local produce or actually made on the premises. Some of the stand out dishes were a lasagne made with nettles, truly delicious. I cannot rate the service highly enough. You have to tell Marianna to stop cooking otherwise you would burst

Tucked in the Sannio hills is a medieval contrada that has been turned into the perfect place to escape the city and bring your family and friends to. The numerous buildings have been restored into an agriturismo that exemplifies the concept. From the animals in the barns to the giant herb garden to the potters studio and the path to the river, Borgo Cerquelle will keep your family entertained. The bedrooms are family centered too. When ever we have out of town guests which usually means from the USA we bring them here for pranzo. The three plus hour lunch is made from things grown and raised on site or locally sourced. No frozen, pre made anything served here. Everything is fresh and scrumptious. The antipasto contained local cheeses, meats and vegetable stuffed rustico . Not one but two different homemade pastas arrived served family style. Yummy! The local wines were perfect for the meal. Next came roasted meats and vegetables. No food is rushed out. There are welcome pauses between courses so we could walk out onto the balcony and stare at the mountain. Desserts are accompanied by after dinner liquors made on site. We tend to stare at each other when ever we come and say did we really just eat all that? We did because it is delicious and we will again !

Very nice farmhouse and characteristic friendly and helpful managers. There is a small path in the woods near and in the surroundings there is also a stream with a small waterfall to reach a short distance before by car and then a stretch on foot. the small village made of renovated houses and some dirt is pleasant and relaxing. the animals to see are some horses not too cared for in the very beautiful set cmq. lunch was good but quality ratio not exceptional price. appetizer composed of degotations all in a dish plus a tegamino. two first excellent times only was not good actually arrived almost together with the result that one we ate the cold will happen) the second mixed roast of insufficient meat as quantity but cmq good sweet and very good bitter

Is exactly like the grandmother, for the warmth of the reception, for the atmosphere, for the kitchen, for the perfumes. nature and simplicity are a contour but also a protagonist. a place that remains in your heart and fills your soul with beautiful sensations. rest from everyday frenzy is super guaranteed!
