Barbara Jean's On The Water

This is one of our go-to restaurants. The food is consistently outstanding, expertly prepared, and truly feels like home cooking at its best. We never have to wait long for our meals to arrive. We enjoy bringing friends and family from out of town here. We also appreciate the complimentary bread basket. The atmosphere is casual, and the view of the water is fantastic.

We were visiting Jax this weekend for the airshow and decided to stop in at Barbara Jean's. Our food was very good, and the service was EXCELLENT ! Griffin was our server and did a very good job of staying on top of the 14 people we had. Never had an empty glass. Food was prompt and he was engaging and courteous. Nice job ! We'll be back ! Awesome food ! The she crab soup is the best! The staff is always friendly . Parking can be difficult at times. The view on the water is very relaxing and pretty . I recently relocated to St. Augustine from Boise, Idaho, and I have to say that Barbara Jean's truly represents the essence of a waterfront restaurant. We were seated at a dockside table, which allowed us to enjoy watching the boats pass by while we sampled their beer selection. Our waiter was very knowledgeable, and we eventually chose the three-item selection that included a delicious crab cake. The bread basket with three different varieties was a lovely addition, and overall, this meal was quite filling for an early afternoon – the portions were generous. Barbara Jean's has definitely made it onto my list of favorite spots, thanks to its beautiful setting and fantastic food!
