Expresso - Ponte de Lima

Very close to the Ponte de Lima Roman Bridge. Excellent Service and food. We had the cod bolinho as appetizers, I could have had 6! As main dish Bacalhau Expresso which is outstanding. Service great. Our attendant spoke English and Spanish. Besides Portuguese. I almost forgot Vinho verde. Moito bom!

Tinhamos o restaurante só para nós. Éramos um grupo de 8 adultos e 1 bebé. Correu tudo lindamente. Comida boa e o atendimento ainda melhor! De certeza que será um restaurante a visitar numa próxima vez que formos aí.

Avoid. Why? Read on... I have eaten at this restaurant probably more than 100 times over the past 8 years. It was a good, simple family restaurant offering great value and reliable home cooking. But in the past few months a change of management has brought with it a cynical policy of ripping tourists (and even non-Portuguese locals) off. To give you one small example: A couple of days ago my son, visiting from the UK, took some friends there and asked for a carafe of the house white (normally good under the previous management) but instead was charged €23.50 for a bottle of the local co-op vinho verde, which sells for €3.50 in shops (some of which are less than 50 metres away). Other friends who live locally and used to frequent the restaurant have had similar experiences. If this policy continues, there will be another change of management pretty soon, because there will be no trade left. Reputations are easily destroyed in a small town, and it isn’t just tourists who are being deterred.

Restaurante muito acolhedor, o serviço sempre muito prestável. A picanha o arroz de sarrabulho e o bacalhau são uma delícia!!! Aconselho vivamente. Felicidades aos proprietários.
