Mi Patio - Ponchatoula

I usually frequent this restaurant since I was a child. I have always loved their authenticity and fast service. Well, in the last few months and times I have gone, all has gone downhill. I called to make a reservation for myself and 2 other people, away from the stage, on a busy Friday night. The lady who took down my request failed to take down my name for the reservation, which was for 5:20. We wanted to be there before happy hour ended which was at 6. So, first mistake, they did not try to take my info for the reservation. I arrived at 5:15 and provided my name and little facts that may help them remember talking with me about reserving a table. I had some specific details like not near the stage, kitchen or rest rooms. They had no idea what I was talking about and tried to ask around with whom I spoke to. After 5 minutes of that nonsense, I said it is fine. I requested a table for 3 away from the kitchen and bathroom. They placed us near the bat, which was fine. My friends arrived at 5:20, and the place was busy but not exceedingly just yet. The crowds began to form after 6. I waited around for over 10 minutes to find a server since no one has come to introduce themselves and offer to get drinks. I was hoping to get happy hour margaritas after a long Friday at work. It took over 10 minutes to find a server. I eventually found one, who had to make it her point that she was not our server. This was at 5:50. I had requested the bogo margaritas and water. She took our drink order and brought it to the bar right at 6pm. I informed the server that I had been waiting for over 30 minutes trying to find a server and place my drink order before the cut off. There was no bartender at this time so I could not order the drink there. The server stated that there was no way she could apply the happy hour discount after 6 since the computers have an internal mode that disables the promo after 6pm. I then requested to have the manager change it but gave up because she had the heart to tell me that she did know where the manager was. (This was obvious since the restaurant was a mess with only 4 servers on a Friday night. We received our drinks and then the server was ready to take our order. Our food came back semi-quickly. It took much longer than it usually had before. I believe we waited around 30 mins for our food to come out. At this time, the restaurant was becoming more crowded. Our food was actually spectacular, hence the 2 stars. I have never been disappointed by the quality of food just the service. I tried to place a to-go order yesterday, on a Sunday. All Facebook, Google and other sites states their hours of operation on Sunday end at 9pm. I called the restaurant at 5:50, 6:10,6:15,6:20,6:30 and 6:45. There were no answering machines and the line just kept ringing. I proceeded to message them on messenger asking if they were indeed open. I have yet to receive a reply. I am very upset with how business is being handled at this restaurant now. They use to be so quick, friendly, attentive and caring. They lost out on more business last night due to their inability to answer a simple phone call. I may return back here if I go with a party or family and do not have to pay. I would love to have the Pollo Felíz one more time but do not wish to give an uncaring business my money.

This is our little family's go to Mexican Restaurant! As a family with two small girls, we are very picky where we go because I know sometimes kids can be kids. We love going to Mi Patio. The wait staff makes sure the kids did their food as soon as possible to help keep the peace! The staff is Always friendly and the food is delicious!

This used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant and last night I drove half an hour just to eat here for my birthday and it was absolutely terrible. The cheese dip was hard, the beans and rice had clearly been sitting under a heat light for a VERY long time and the fish tacos were pretty much cabbage with a pound of Baja sauce on top. The quality has gone waaaay down, it's really sad. Will not ever be eating at this place again.

If you've had authentic Mexican food, you may want to by pass this place. If you would like a reasonable attempt at combining Mexican food ideas, then you may be satisfied. Just no heart in there food. A lot of frozen, canned, and a poor attempt at Mexican food. Sorry.

This is my second visit, and both times have been truly impressive! The chips and salsa are fresh and delicious. The taco salad I ordered here is undoubtedly the best I've ever had. The staff is outstanding, and the prices are excellent as well.
