I like this place. Please expand more locations in Miami Dade County.
I went to Wawa for the first time today to see what the hype was about. Overall, I was happy. Wawa is clean and the three people inside were all friendly. GAS: The gas at Wawa on Powerline and Sample was the same price as the 7-Eleven on the road, but .06 cheaper than the shell, which is 2 miles north. The gas stations were very clean and the entire area was well lit. STORE: The store was extremely clean! Spotless. I was very impressed. I just saw a piece of garbage on the floor and it was a hot sauce package. When I was in a Wawa for the first time, I took my time and went through the store to see what they were wearing. You have countless types of potato chips. They have a wide range of drinks, including their own privately labeled teas and lemonades. You have inexpensive drinks that you can get from a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine. I love tea and was satisfied with the variety of hot tea they offered. FOOD: The hot food in Wawa is what everyone is talking about. So I had to try. I ordered a buffalo chicken hoagie, a small Cheddar Broccoli soup and a small Chipotle Mac and cheese. The Hoagie was good, not great, but good... good enough to try other Wawa sandwiches in the future. It was much more filling than expected... A quarter of it is in my fridge... Hopefully it heats well haha. I would make the Chipotle Mac and cheese a 3.5 out of 10. The Chipotle sauce was placed on the Mac and cheese, so I had to pour it out and mix it to spread the Chipotle flavor. The pasta had a boiled texture. The soup was better than I expected. It was hot, had a good consistency and was very tasty. It was my favorite of the three articles. I'd order the soup in a second. All in all, it was a pleasant visit. I'll visit this Wawa for gas. While I'm not going to eat regularly here, I'll stop for hot food in time.
It's a pretty busy Wawa location, so don't expect to be in and out whether it's for food or gas. The service has improved and the food quality is not as large as other busy locations, but they have in recent months... if it is less busy, you should not have a problem. Otherwise you can expect a typical Wawa experience. The air pump is often broken at this point, so if you consider in desperate need for air a different position or alternative, unless it is a last resort.
