The Port - Polk County

We drove almost an hr out of our way to eat here.. First impression based on appearance was disappointing. We sat outside which was noisy with the boat ramp literally right there. No biggie… Took forever to get service(there was us 2 other couples) fish tacos were soggy my son nor husband ate them, my Mahi was ok but not much flavor, they forgot my rice, waiter went to get it when I asked, broccoli is like frozen cafeteria veggie, conch fritters were hard chewy.. The smothered chicken my sons gf said was rubbery. The thing I was most excited for was the Oysters! We got the ones with the Parmesan cheese the ones with the spinach dip.. They were both gross!! Like just raw oysters with spaghetti Parmesan cheese poured on top the spinach dip 1s were even nastier! Usually they are like put under the broiler to at least melt the cheese ??‍ I don’t think that anyone there yesterday wanted to work. The waiter was really nice but it just seemed like no one cared about the service or food.. We will definitely not drive all the way out there again!

Drove 20 miles out there at dusk on Saturday. No lights identifying restaurant or door. Trucks and boat trailers everywhere. Could not find entrance so turned around and left.

We would have ate there if the older lady by the door wasn't rude from the get go! that is quite a ride out there and we have been there before, walked in and went to go to the bathroom and she throws her arm out and says if your going to the bathroom then you have to use the one outside. Then was rude to my husband because he asked a question then went and got someone to explain why. But at that point the rudeness was to much!

My daughter and I had such an amazing time there. It was busy but they informed us that we were going to be seated but that it might take time for our orders to be taken and the food to come out. We had such an amazing view of the water we didn’t care. Screened in outside patio right on the water. The interaction of the staff was great. They were cracking jokes and making us laugh. Food didn’t take long at all and was so good. The broccoli (yes I mean that) was worth ordering. It was so good. All homemade food and you can taste it. We are excited to go back.

Great place to eat. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly and very helpful
