Bidrage med feedbackOur Lake Wales friends “romanced” us up and down US27 off I-4 a lot in the past couple months. Earlier in Sept. (last week they took us here, to what they affectionately call “D’oro” – it’s in shopping center on Posner Blvd., which of course with them driving, finding it was “no problem” for us – being dropped near entrance is always a plus! The atmosphere typical (nice – from the smells and sounds you know it’s “Italian” – the seating was quick, the service was constant and smooth with no hitches. Overall good experience. (having buy one/get one half off coupons didn’t hurt! . In wanting to go back, looked up on internet to be sure of hours, one website has the word “closed” in heading. Need to call since all the other sites don’t say that – I hope not! (just called, doublechecked “still open and going strong” – don’t know why some website says “closed”!
Everything from start to finish was awesome!!! So Fresh So Many Selections Can’t wait to go back Try The Veal Parmesan!!!!
Well, let’s start with this… no matter the size of your party they automatically give themselves an 18% tip…. and trust me, the service wasn’t worth the 18% tip. It is the rudest thing I have ever experienced. My husband ordered the chicken parmesan. It comes with butter herb noodles… and is nasty. My husband said the chicken was like eating sawdust. All three of the teenagers with me got Fettuccini Alfredo, all three weren’t thrilled with the sauce. I got the chicken Fettuccini Alfredo. I though the sauce was bland and the chicken was dry and chewy. I personally won’t bother going back. If I choose to leave gratuity, that is my choice. I am highly offended by them forcing me to give a $15 tip for crappy service and crappy food.
My husband and I decided to try this place due to an offer with living social. The food was not bad, I would say average Italian food. The thing that got me was how they added a gratuity sneakily to our bill. On their door it stated that an 18% gratuity would be added. Many moons ago in college I waited tables and know that for one, you should only apply 18% pre-tax not after. The other thing is that it was added only after I gave the server our credit card and it was not on the original bill. When I received my slip back after it was already charged, and not once was it mentioned that gratuity was added, was a place to add another tip. They also charged 20% after tax. I probably would have tipped the same amount without this being added, but I do not like how I feel it was sneakily done and deceptive. The worst part was when we mentioned it and the owner confirmed that was not their policy, he then proceeded to treat us like second class citizens stating that people who use coupons, or groupon/living social, want something for nothing and that he gets a lot of negative reviews and it is not worth his time with customers who use those offers. Apparently though we were solicited and took advantage of the offer we are not “quality” customers. Shame on companies that do not value their customers. Perhaps if they did, they would not need to use these services that they state they cannot stand.
