Bidrage med feedbackWe stayed at the resort and visited the restaurant on the first night. No complaints. It is a very welcoming business - great facility and service. Introduced us to a new wine that we sought out at the cellar door on the next day. We would come back.
My husband and I recently stayed at the Mercure Hunter Valley and dined at Elements.Elements presents well and the staff we lovely and very attentive. We choose the 3 course dinner but were a little disappointed with the meals. They were by no means terrible, but they needed a bit more attention to be talked about positively. We both had the pork belly and scallops for entree. The pork belly was well over cooked and as a result the crackling was tough and meat dry. The scallops were cut in half (and obviously so). This was not something I have ever seen done before. Our mains (beef cheeks) were nice. Served in a small pot with carrots, broad beans and mushrooms. The dessert (margarine creme brûlée) was not of creme brûlée consistency and as such we were a bit disappointed.I doubt that we would return to Elements, given the other amazing restaurants in the Hunter Valley area. Particularly when this was as expensive as many other more fine dining venues.
I and 6 girlfriends had dinner here and the menu was reasonably priced for a French restaurant. We had three courses and all was good except I opted for the crepes which spoilt my overall meal somewhat. The orange sorbet had already melted by the time the dish came to the table and the crepes were swimming in butter which was all I could taste and smell. My friends had other desserts which they said tasted good. I had ocean trout for my main meal which was good but too many olives on the top which overpowered the taste of the trout.
My wife and I spent a couple of days at the Mercure Hunter Valley Gardens. Dined at Elements Restaurant on our first night, and were very impressed with the French inspired cuisine. Not a large menu, but still a great selection, and I'm sure almost anyone would find something to their tastes. Service was efficient, professional and friendly, and the food arrived in a reasonable time. Entrées, mains and desserts were all delicious, fresh and satisfying. Retired afterwards to the wonderfully quirky bar -- with lots of old LPs, a record play, musical instruments to play along, and a small pool table -- and were treated really well by food and beverage manager Josh. We'll definitely be going back, just so we can have fun drinking, listening to old music, and playing pool in the bar.
Only issues were this restaurant only has a 2 or 3 course set menu. A few items to choose from however if looking for a light meal or something else not available
