Il Campanile - Poggioreale

While in town for a week, I ate here every day. Simple breakfast, but dinners were first class. Pizza. pasta, wine all in a great atmosphere that was warm and welcoming. My poor Italian and their poor English made for some great memories that will last with me forever. After 5 days of asking (in jest for pineapple on my pizza (in my poor Italian asking for anana I finally received a full hawaiian pizza WITH banana something that had the local 's gasping in horror until they tried it!! A great laugh amongst all patrons. What a great gesture to close off a week of good service.

We randomly ended up to this pizza-restaurant on our way to Palermo. We expected a plain restaurant in a small village and the outlook actually suggested it would be so. However, the small facade opened up to a large hall with a fine restaurant look. The food was excellent. We were four, ordered only three pasta and one pizza, but then they were so tasty that we ordered two more pastas (the pistachio pasta one of them that was in the first order! . We do not speak Italian, the staff did not speak English, so we ended up having two double portions of what we ordered. Certainly, we could not it all and the owner made a packet of this. It seemed that in the bill, the double portions were charged as single and the price was actually a fraction of what we would have paid in Palermo. We were having an early flight the day after, and realized we had to print out boarding passes. The English communication was not high but enough to get the printouts! The owner insisted to give as a shot on our way out, which we kindly refrained from. Overall, it was hospitality and taste nicely put together for us!

Dominico and his family made the place even better. Definitely we are coming again and we highly recommend this place.

The best Italian food Friendly people are a family member have a solution, but all your sweets say you are eating a solution.

We arrived late for lunch with a group of cyclists. Domenico kept his restaurant open so we could enjoy a nice lunch. When one of us left his helmet behind, Domenico came after us by car and brought us the helmet back. Great service from a very warm place.
