Despite some initial concerns after reading recent reviews, we were pleasantly surprised by the excellent food and top-notch service. We had a wonderful evening and are grateful for the experience. Thank you very much.
During our minimoon at Boringdon Hall, we enjoyed dining at the Mayflower Brasserie every night. The food was fantastic and the service, especially from the restaurant supervisor (possibly wearing a veteran badge) and the lady with a long dark ponytail, was excellent. Thank you both for your great service. We are already looking forward to our next stay.
The scallops I ordered for my starter, a dish that I typically enjoy, were truly disappointing. They were not properly cleaned, gritty with sand, overcooked, and excessively greasy. I could only manage to eat one out of the two small scallops served to me, and it left me feeling unwell (a first for me as I have never left a scallop uneaten before). For my main course, I ordered beef bourguignon, which looked appetizing but fell short in terms of taste. The beef was dry and chewy, with a heavy texture. My partner's main course, a kebab, was so small that we initially thought it was a starter mistakenly brought to our table. His dessert, a chocolate cake, was so hard that we struggled to cut through it, almost causing it to fly across the room. The bill did not include any drinks, and we left the restaurant feeling hungry and dissatisfied. In retrospect, we would have been better off eating at McDonald's for a more satisfying meal at a lower cost. I would advise others to save their money and dine elsewhere.
Had lunch with family. delicious. smoked salmon starter was a real tasty and then the roast beef was beautifully cooked, like the fresh seasonal vegetables. what it really did was how well everyone took care of us, I had brought my daughter. which is not yet four weeks old and we got a perfect table, so I could feed them, an additional heating was put on the table and the staff had even the effort to get a special teddy bear for them to welcome them! we were so grateful and had a wonderful time. I'm sure we'll come back many years!
The afternoon was nice. left and minutes later I got a call to say I didn't have all my bill to cover. I had previously paid for the afternoon, as it was a tasty bite for my sister. so look how disappointed. I wanted to get this call. then I spoke to a lady who promises me an email that she did and offer me money from my next visit. I refused because it was not the money I wanted, just because they communicate with each other when someone has already paid their bill and not asked after they have gone. this hotel really didn't expect.
