Bidrage med feedbackDespite making a reservation and confirming via Open table, I arrived at this restaurant (after a 50 minute drive) to find a sign on the door advising they were on summer vacation. This was extremely disappointing and I dont think I will be in any hurry to try it again.
Not that it was in their control but AC not working. Food was well prepared but nothing out of the ordinary. Found the taste of entrees a little bland. We'd had the mussels which were just OK. Bread was really good served with olive oil and spices. Had seen the restaurant featured on Phantom Gourmet and thought that we'd try it. Spaghetti and clam dinner was well prepared but thought the flavor profile to be less than I am used to. Tagliatelle was again well prepared but lacked a decent flavor level. Rigatoni Bolognese was good.
Four of us visited this restaurant on Saturday night. As we approached restaurant we saw a large truck idling in front with a huge dog head poked out of the moonroof. It was 90 degrees outside and in full sun. I was concerned about these poor dogs. We went into the restaurant and were seated immediately right in front of the floor to ceiling window that looked straight out to the car with the 2 dogs. They were very large dogs and understandibly distressed. I mentioned it to the waitress and she was very nice and sent over the hostess. The hostess at first said that we are monitoring this situation and are also concerned . I thanked her but said if it was not corrected within 15 minutes I would call 911. She agreed with me but did nothing so I did call. Police came. Walked around car. Owner who was sitting at bar, on his second beverage and a meal went outside and talked to police. Then the police left and the man came back in and sat back down at the bar. I was pretty upset. He had made a comment to me as he walked by not repeatable . So, nothing was done for these dogs. He did shut the moonroof but kept the truck running. It is illegal, by the way, in the state of MA to keep a car in idle for more than 5 minutes. We finished our meal pretty ordinary food and before leaving, I talked with the hostess and she was not nice at all. You must realize that the entire front of restaurant window looked out at this car with two huge dogs in the front seat. She got rude and argumentative with me. My friend retired FBI agent also spoke with her and the owner/chef . Oh she said, I KNEW you were from Pine Hills!! ! . They took no responsibility and no concern for the dogs, and did not apologize to us for having to experience this incident in their restaurant. They did, in fact, give considerable attention to the owner of the dogs, laughing with him and bringing him another beverage etc. What is going on? Do not visit TERRA in Plymouth.
The high ceilings and brick walls give this place a very nice feel. The waitress was exceptional with outstanding service. The food delicious! We sampled both bruschetta. One had broccoli rabe, peppers, Parmesan and some pickled onions. The other had fresh ricotta with slivers of snap peas. Both were great! We also shared the meatball as an appetizer. A true authentic Italian meatball with beef, pork and veal! Very similar to what nonni would make! For our main course we had the brick oven grilled swordfish with a pistachio vinaigrette and roasted snap peas and radishes. It was prepared to perfection. A must place to put on your list of South Shore restaurants.
The food was excellent. However, the service was extremely sluggish tonight.
