Tried to eat in restaurants in Lesconil one Sunday and they were all full but driving out of the car park saw an umbrella and seats a little way away and we found the Cantine de Mer or Tara. We found a fish restaurant with good seating and an excellent menu. The food was first class and the waitresses spoke English which is always helpful. They serve meat alternatives for non fish eaters. This was a super family restaurant, we would very definitely go back to this place.

The Cantine de Mer serves outstanding sea food why else would we go back year after year and of course the menu also meets the needs of meat eaters. You are likely to meet the owner who makes a point of talking to customers, he really does care. The service is good and unfussy, you won't be pressured so the whole experience is relaxing. Don't be put off by the building. it looks like a shed on the quayside. The food really is very good. Be warned its very popular with the locals, book to ensure you get a table.
