Bidrage med feedbackAuthentic local Mexican family restaurant, not a "tourist joint". Wide selection of fresh seafood and some OK steaks. Great service and prices!
We discovered this place on Christmas eve 2016. I had a serious craving for Baja lobster but we did not want to drive down to Puerto Nuevo. We arrived around 8pm and were greeted by Hugo. He made my family and I feel very welcome and accommodated my appetite for langostas. When it came to the final bill I was beyond thrilled. About $60 for two medium sized lobsters, camarones a la diabla, camarones al mojo de ajo, a plate of carne asada for the kid, 2 beers, and 2 sodas. We have subsequently visited and had the same wonderful experience.
Our family always travels in large groups and every time we show up even without calling ahead they accommodate our party regardless of the size. We have a couple of picky eaters with us and they go the extra mile to satisfy our appetite. My wife orderes the carne asada and we had to split it because their portions are large. The food has great flavor and presentation and comes out really fast. My favorite snack "queso fundido con rajas" melted cheese with sliced jalapeño and flour tortillas. Second favorite: queso con chorizo. It's located in the main drive really easy to find! We will be back.
The Chicken Chilaquiles were really good, crispy and tasty sauce, but the beans tasted like they came from a can. Weird texture. Besides that it was great. Service was good also. I was really hungry so I took the picture after eating a bit lol but the presentation has good. The Chicken Chilaquiles was $85 pesos.
Easy street parking right in front, centrally located off the main street in town. Initial reaction was cleanliness, ambiance (candles @ tables), and exceptional service. We enjoyed the complimentary seafood soup, which was outstanding. The fillet "mojo de ajo", whole fried fish, and seasonal roasted lobster were sensational. Topped off with some great wine, live music at our table, the entire experience was surprisingly VERY well priced - prior to leaving, our server utilized a smart phone app (free wifi) to suggest best return route to San Diego based on traffic at each of the border crossings. Would HIGHLY recommend La Guerita to anyone looking for a terrific deal with outstanding seafood and service. enjoy!
